What Did I Get Myself Into?
There are two reasons why I created this website. When I first started teaching I was endlessly grateful for the teachers that shared their lesson plans and activities for free. Like many teachers, I lived paycheck to paycheck and there was no way I could spend money on additional items for my class. They saved my sanity (well, at least some of it) and sharing my lesson plans is my way of saying thank you.
The second reason came from a video I came across of a teacher explaining the issue of caste systems between teachers on the same team/school (I can't find the video, so if anyone knows who that was please tag me!). It had never occurred to me that caste systems could exist in the same grade level, at the same school, but it made sense. Some teachers had the money and time to purchase additional lesson aids, while others didn't. For me, a purchased lesson plan was a luxury I literally couldn't afford. Hopefully this website will help begin breaching the walls created by class to class caste systems!
